I taught all three of my boys to read before kindergarten. No teaching degree. No expensive programs. No perfect schedule.
Just ten minutes a day, the right sequence, and a real commitment to making reading feel safe instead of stressful.
I struggled with reading myself as a kid. So, before my oldest started kindergarten, I got to work. Not with a curriculum, but with a method I built from years of real-life testing across three completely different learners.
Here’s what happened:
• All three boys learned to read before kindergarten.
• All three are in gifted programs.
• School leaders, great grades, and high test scores.
No tutors. No homework battles. No panic before report cards.
A few years ago, parents started asking me what I did. So I built it into a course. This jumpstart is where it starts.
You want to help your child learn to read, but you’re not sure where to begin or what to do first.
You’ve started and stopped because the advice online is contradictory or overwhelming.
You don’t want to rely on an app or a classroom to build your child’s reading foundation.
You have 10 minutes a day, but not hours.
You want a clear, sequenced plan from someone who has actually done it.

Build a daily reading routine that strengthens your bond
Nothing to lose and SO MUCH to gain!

This challenge works best for children ages 2–6. The activities are flexible and designed to meet your child where they are. There’s no pressure to move at a set pace. If your child is older and just beginning to learn to read, the foundational skills still apply.
Most lessons take about 10 minutes a day. Some days you may spend a little more time reading together, and other days less. The goal is consistency, not perfection, even short, focused moments make a big difference.
That’s completely normal and it’s accounted for in the method. Most of these activities are designed to be done while moving, playing, or going about your regular day. You don’t need them sitting at a table.
No. Your printable workbook includes everything you need to run each activity. If you choose to use flashcards or beginner books like Bob Books, those enhance the experience but they’re optional, not required.
You’ll have a clear daily reading routine and a strong foundation to build on. If you’d like continued step-by-step guidance through the full reading journey, all the way to fluency, you’ll have the opportunity to continue inside the full Books, Bonds & Brighter Futures course. But the Jumpstart stands on its own. You’ll walk away with more than you came in with.
You can pause, repeat, or slow down with no problem at all. Progress looks different for every child. What matters is that you’re building the habit and the relationship; the skills follow.
Lifetime. Move at your own pace, revisit any lesson, and use the program again with younger siblings.
